I remove the old slime and sit it ontop of the lid
) Summer it grows rapidly and that is why I always encourage a backup
Any other are too cheap and it makes the slime nasty
All I do is aim my nozzle at a corner and allow the water to distribute underneath the top layer on one side

These like lots of spagnum moss on either end and then a few pieces of bark that have a bunch of crevices they can get into. I do not add ventilation to the bins. Depending on where you are and if your humidity is high or not you can add a vent. But they like
