which leads us to believe that this may be an early service dial with zinc sulphide lume

The salmon coloured dial has some amazing details: the texture is grainy and matte with black glossy bold arabic numerals and stick markers with big serifs

Its not easy to find quality like this now

The dial is in great condition and the hour markers are a nice match with the hands (which have been stabilized in the past to prevent cracking – quite common with these pieces)
